Rhapsody in blue/ Jazz on Clarinet
25
It's the funnest piece to play on the clarinet but it's tricky to do it really well! Many clarinetists don't know how to truly bend the sound. If you're brave there's a way to do it and it will help you with other jazz pursuits on your clarinet. I'm especially interested in helping you if you're playing this for your band or orchestra but if you're just wanting to master it for yourself that's great as well!
I'd be willing to do a follow up lesson for additional pointers at no charge if you're working on this piece.
This could also be fun if you are interested in branching out and getting a few pointers on improving tone, bending sounds, reed timing, advanced ligatures and all the geeky stuff your band teacher's not going to know :-).
I think this would be ideal for you if you have played for at least a year or two and are already familiar with the basics. It's probably also good for you if you don't have a very advanced teacher who specialized in clarinet, otherwise of course you could just ask your teacher! I'm happy to chat with advanced clarinetists or beginners alike, it'll be fun!
Flexible on the simbi so hit me up even if you're below the 25s and we can trade or you can pay it forward.
