Post-Apocalyptic Skills Assessment
A lot of the skills you're going to need to survive the (possible) collapse of modern life can be learned easily when the going is still easy. Most of these self-same skills can do a lot for you before the collapse, as well.
How are you gong to acquire the necessities of life, when you can't just hit up the supermarkets, malls, or call a contractor? How are you going to keep yourself sane, when there's no internet, no tv, no movie theaters, no cell phones?
How are you going to contribute to a community, when the system that made you day job necessary is no longer intact?
Learn which of your hobbies could be useful, consider your friend's hobbies as part of your community, and discover what might be missing in your network.
