Resolve a Communications Kerfuffle

25

25 per session - Virtual OK - Posted Sep 30, 2021

Communication is hard. And it comes in all forms - email, text, phone, Zoom and similar services, in-person, and in writing. I offer 20 minute consultations to help you identify communications challenges and then I'll advise you on tips and techniques to help you in your situation. Before your consultation, I'll ask you to send me an email describing your situation and any specific questions you have for me. This way we can get started right away when our meeting begins. If you think you need more time than 20 minutes, you are welcome to reach out to me about this to schedule an extra session time. I encourage you to be as specific as possible about what you want to discuss or learn; this will allow me to plan the session just for you and to provide you with resources that you can take away after our session.

Training & Qualifications

I have experience teaching professional communication, cross-cultural communication, and negotiation, and I also have background in mediation and nonviolent communication. I've also run a lively freelance business for the last 15+ years, in which I help individuals and organizations create strong communication, resolve communications issues, and become more sensitive to cultural issues in their personal and professional lives. My students have included graduate students in international affairs, mid-career professionals transitioning careers, and youth. I have a Ph.D. in International Studies from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.

About Sarah Bania-Dobyns

I'm a creative entrepreneur now based in Saskatoon, SK. I just moved here recently from Toledo, OH when my spouse started a graduate education program. In my work, I do a variety of different types of... freelance work: writing and editing, web content development, SEO writing, UX research and writing, instructional design, and research analysis. I particularly focus in the education sector. My work is always evolving and developing. Over the last year, I went through a re-branding process to align my work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which I now use as a barometer for finding mission-oriented clients to contribute my work with. I see this community as a great place to grow and stretch, so the services I offer here are quite different than those I offer in my regular work. Here I will be offering services based on my passions and my most outlandish ideas. My goal here is to network and meet individuals who think outside the box by exchanging services and learning from each other.show more
