How To Be Happy
1
Showing gratitude is something that is difficult for many people, but helpful for all.
One researcher, Dr. Robert Emmons at UCDavis, found with over 8 years of research that having an ‘attitude of gratitude’ improves emotional and physical health, as well as strengthens relationships and communities. One of his studies revealed that people who kept a gratitude journal exercised more frequently, reported fewer physical symptoms of pain and were more optimistic about the upcoming week than those who didn't focus on gratitude.
Basically, there are many reasons to be grateful for things. It can help you become a healthier and better person.
I think the greatest benefits of showing thankfulness are these:
1) It makes you feel good
2) It strengthens neural pathways to help you continue to feel good in the future
So, I am offering this:
You can send me a message to tell me two things you are thankful for today.
You can do it right now, and it will increase levels of dopamine in your brain, making you feel good.
If you do this every day, it will help you build up the habit of gratitude, and will make you a happier person.
Science says so.
