30Min Fitness & Weight Training Q&A
25
I will answer any questions you have about getting started with fitness and weight training. This can be done via call, messaging (such as WhatsApp) or in person if you are local to Philadelphia. Any level welcome! From beginners just getting started, to those with experience but maybe just trying to push through a plateau or learn some new moves. I am happy to share anything I know, including (but not limited to):
How to:
-build muscle
-do a pull up
-do a push up
-lift weights
-prep for a competition
-incorporate resistance bands into my weight training
-design a circuit
-perform a drop set
-use equipment
-use hand straps
-use kettlebells
-target a certain area of the body
-improve core strength
-improve form
-incorporate cardio into your routine
-measure body fat (your weight on the scale isn't the only metric!)
-set up a heavy-weight glute bridge/thrust station at the gym (I've got this down!)
-overcome fear of the weight room
-decide which gym to join (I've been a member of almost every one in the Philadelphia area, if you're local)
-or just get started with simple strength-building circuits in your own home, with advice on what equipment you might need!
You can send me all your questions in advance so we can cover as much as possible, or we can just dive right in and chat!
Training & Qualifications
I first joined a gym at age 14. I learned all the basics about weights, nutrition, and fitness from a young age and have never stopped learning! I graduated magna cum laude from Temple University with my Bachelor’s in Kinesiology (Exercise Science). I took first place in a powerlifting competition when I was 22. Most recently, at age 28, I competed again - but this time in a physique competition (stage show) with the WBFF. I gained muscle while losing fat during 6 months of hard training leading up to the competition. However, during all the years in-between, I was always in the gym growing and developing my knowledge of weight training, fitness, and nutrition. I have worked as a personal trainer and also conducted many small group training sessions. I've also designed fitness and nutrition plans, based on my clients' specific goals. I am often approached at the gym (by both men and women) for advice about how to perform a certain move, how to use a piece of equipment, etc. (and I don't even work there!). I really do love to help, and am happy to answer any questions you have.
